AKIM-Jerusalem’s vision is create social inclusion for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with the aim of strengthening their integration into Israeli society.

As a vital component of our responsibility and our mission, we advance and develop the capacities of our residents and offer them the freedom to pursue their talents and dreams. Leisure activities also serve to cultivate social relations among residents and to enrich their world with varied hobbies, including sports, gardening, music, theater, photography, the plastic arts, sculpture and other interests.

Our counselors know the individual stories of each resident and are able to use their professional abilities to help them cultivate their potential over the long term.  They provide support for the residents, with awareness of their difficult challenges, and strengthen and advance their capacities to fulfill their potential.
